Hello Puddle Privacy Policy

Hello Puddle ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when using Hello Puddle:

• Account information: your email address, and a password if you sign up with email. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we store the email address provided through that sign-in method. With Apple's Hide My Email, that may be a private relay address rather than your real email address.
• Child profile information: nickname, age in months, training start date, daycare status, clothing preferences, and optional notes
• Event logs: potty events, sleep events, and associated metadata such as location, initiation, and clothing
• Chat messages and AI-generated insights
• App preferences including notification settings and quiet hours

We do not collect your child's real name or actual birth date. We collect age in months only. We do not collect device location data beyond what you optionally enter in event logs.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide Hello Puddle's features:

• To display your child's potty training history
• To generate AI-powered insights and respond to your questions using Hello Puddle AI
• To send rule-based push notifications based on your logged events

Your data is never sold, shared with third parties for advertising, or used for any purpose other than providing Hello Puddle's features to you.

AI Analysis

Hello Puddle uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate insights and respond to chat messages. Your event data and child profile are sent to Anthropic's API solely to generate your personalized insights. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models by default. You can disable AI analysis at any time in Settings → Privacy. When AI analysis is disabled, no data is sent to Anthropic.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase with row-level security, which restricts access to data based on the authenticated account. Hello Puddle's backend services use controlled administrative access only when required to provide and operate the service.

Children's Privacy

Hello Puddle is designed for use by parents and caregivers of children ages 18 months to 4 years. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. All data is entered by parents or caregivers on behalf of their child. We do not collect children's real names or birth dates.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your data at any time:

• Export your data as CSV or JSON from Settings → Data Management
• Delete a child's logged activity from Settings → Data Management → Delete logged activity. This removes all logged potty activity for that child; the child profile and your account remain.
• Permanently delete a child profile, including all of its logged activity, from Settings → Other Children → Switch child
• Delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently and immediately deletes your account, every child profile, and all logged activity. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Hello Puddle's access to your Apple ID.

Deleted data is removed from our live systems immediately. Encrypted backups may retain copies for a short period before they expire.

Your Rights

You may at any time:

• Access and export your data via Settings → Data Management
• Correct your child profile information via Settings → Child Profile
• Delete a child's logged activity via Settings → Data Management
• Permanently delete a child profile via Settings → Other Children → Switch child
• Delete your account via Settings → Account → Delete account
• Disable AI analysis via Settings → Privacy

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:

• Right to know: You may request information about the personal data we have collected about you
• Right to delete: You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account
• Right to opt out of sale: We do not sell your personal data to third parties
• Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights
